Fall is in the Air!

Open those windows and let that autumn breeze in! Isn't sleeping with the windows open the best? (Well, maybe not if you have allergies!) Our household is pretty lucky with allergies not affecting us too badly so I'm always trying to get the windows open and get the AC off! The other night I didn't get much sleep with listening to the coyotes howl in the timber, a cat fight, dogs barking in the distance, the wooden wind chimes blowing in the breeze on the deck, etc.  I had forgotten the "night sounds" since all summer the house has been "closed up".  The smell of fresh air blowing in from OUTSIDE is the best! But then there are those wonderful smells INSIDE too! Pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin coffee beans to grind, and CoffeeMate Pumpkin Spice Creamer!!! I'm getting on a pumpkin kick, can you tell? And how about  the candles!!! Oh my! Anything fall/autumn scented wins my heart! I got a great Yankee Candle flyer in the mail today to ooh and aah over!

And a great new candle I found at Bath and Body was the new LEAVES scent!

Even a Fall rain is wonderful!  I'm not talking a horrendous house shaking storm, just a gentle pitter- patter rain to soothe a body to sleep!

God has given us so many simple daily blessings to just enjoy every day! Can you only imagine what HEAVEN will be like!!

Ephesians 1:3

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Hi Tanya,
I have been thinking about you and have had the best intentions of getting over to visit you. For some reason I seem to be having problems keeping up with blog hopping.
So here I am and I've just scrolled back to read what I've been missing. I love your rose photo in the header. Did you grow it? The colors are gorgeous. Also love your open window with the lace curtain. I agree with you on fresh air and loved to hear about all things pumpkin :).
Now, the post that really got to me was for your mom's birthday. I have a large lump in my throat after reading it. Having gone through a similar situation, I feel your sadness. Wish I could say something to make it easier. The one thing I did learn from our experience was that there comes a time when it is a kind thing to tell "little white lies". I say this after reading your comment about having to tell your mom that your dad is still alive. I learned that since the Alzheimer's patient has short term memory and lives in the past so much of the time, when we remind them that someone from their past is no longer with us it can cause them to get very upset because they don't remember the person's passing because it happened recently. I remember when I had to "lie" to my mom the first time it was very hard especially since this was the person who had taught me to be honest :). I felt a bit better when the other members of the support group I was attending all said that they had felt the same way.
Oh my, I don't mean to be writing a book in the comment section. I'm certainly no expert, but I do feel like I learned a few things through the process of being with my mom.
My thoughts are with you.
Hugs,
Kim

I love having this cooler weather and the windows being open too! It does make for better sleeping. I have the ragweed pollen allergies, but I take medicine, so only a few sneezes so far.
Just a few more days and it's officially autumn!
I agree, there are so many simple blessings every day that we should be celebrating and giving thanks for!
Hope school is going well for you. Have a great week my friend!
