It's the Holiday Season !

Carrie of Farming on Faith posted these fun questions! And I love to read and do these! It lets me get to know a blog friend better and it makes me think about my own opinions of things! Thanks Carrie

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Wrapped! I think they are beautiful works of art! Everyone in my husband's family loves to get a present from Aunt Michaelene....she is awesome at it! I sit and admire packages and everyone hollers at me, "Mom, hurry up and open it!"

2. Real tree or Artificial?
Real! My husband and I have always gone to a tree farm and cut one with the kids. Love the smell and the memories! We take candy canes with us and play Christmas music on the way. An artificial sounds so appealing as it is less messy and maybe? easier. So I think I'l move into doing both and someday when I'm old and feeble and the kids don't care, I'll just do the artificial.

3. When do you put up the tree?
Definitely not before Thanksgiving...I'm one that loves the Fall colors so I like to savor that holiday! But whenever I can get all the Fall stuff down and put away and then beg someone to help me drag Christmas boxes up from the basement!

4. When do you take the tree down?
This will sound "Scroogy" but I have taken it down some years on Christmas night! Yikes...don't hate me! But most
often it's the day after. I love to get out the January snowmen and snowflakes then!

5. Do you like eggnog?
No....my husband does though.

6. Favorite gift received as a child?
Easy one! My Mrs. Beasley doll from "Family Affair"...I still have her...Someday I get to show her to my granddaughter!

7. Hardest person to buy for?
I beg for lists so that helps!

8. Easiest person to buy for?
My girls....they are so different and they do give me suggestions.

9. Do You have a nativity scene?
Just a table top one! Not fancy not expensive.

10.Mail or email Christmas cards?
Mail!! I love this time of year getting all the Christmas cards. I'm so disappointed if it doesn't have a letter or picture in it!

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
Can't think of one.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
I have a list! I buy a lot to have on hand plus love those sappy happy ending Hallmark ones.
Grinch, Rudolph, Elf, Wonderful Life, Holiday Inn, White Christmas, and Christmas Vacation to name a few!

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
Nothing comes to mind....but I bet I have!

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
We like to do fondue on Christmas Eve or a warm Baked Potato Soup.  Christmas morning is sausage/egg casserole and Monkey bread.
Christmas Day is Spiral ham, hash brown potato casserole, green bean casserole and of course LOTS of sweet desserts.

16. Lights on the tree?
Oh yes yes yes! Makes a room so cozy! On the mantel, on the house. I love the white but my husband always wants color!

17.Travel at Christmas or stay home?
We always stay home. Our families are here close so that is very nice. HOWEVER...I wouldn't mind going on a tropical vacation some year at Christmas with all my kids someday. Our winters are so cold and snowy, it would be fun to see what sunny and 80 degrees was like!

18. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
Christmas morning! Santa comes! Stockings first....then breakfast...then presents. But we have a tradition since the kids were little of drawing names between our family and we open those on Christmas Eve. One gift...$10. Now we have in laws and that will be even more fun!

Tanya has left a new comment on your post "ANOTHER HOME AND A GIVEAWAY":

Hi Teresa,
I have been thinking of you and just imagining you been laid up on the couch...resting like you should but wanting to get up and decorate a tree!!! You are in my prayers!
I would love to be entered! Goodness gracious YES! Thank you for the opportunity!

Question....how in the world do you secure your ornaments on the branches? They are so full and beautiful! WIRE

Question....do you do the "take down" and put away! Ugggggggg to me! On about half of them...maids take down the other houses

Question....Are the trees you decorate always artificial or do you ever do real? Out of 80 trees this year, we did 2 real ones

Question....do you start with lights, then ribbon, then ornaments??? We have no order..no rythme or reason...you have to start with lights but from there we just add it all at once...until its crammed full...we work from the inside out..one person starts on one side and antoher on the other...and 4 or 5 hours later..it all works out..
And yes I am going nuts not being able to do anything..

Only answer what you want!!
Hugs,
Tanya
